Securing Affirmations: The Art of Letting Go
Approximately 44.5 million African-Americans have been reported to abuse drugs and alcohol with the majority admitting to have done so due to their personal battles with depression, suicide and other mental and emotional issues. It is without question that someone is either currently struggling with an addiction, has overcome an addiction or has been affected involuntarily by it. Ultimately, the goal of this event is to provide a safe space and ensure that the Howard University community is steadfast in its action to heal and combat addiction, substance and alcohol abuse. Yoga instructor, motivational speaker, and a performance were given. The program ended with releasing of balloons.
